An Informal Cliff Edwards Discography

78s

Despite his prodigious output, Cliff Edwards records aren't exactly as easy to find as Harry James sides. Most of the old dudes in 78 collecting have long ago snapped up these gems. All of mine are pretty beat, but then again, most of my 78 collection is. The important thing for me is being able to get sides that haven't been re-released. I'm a rank amateur when it comes to things like matrix numbers and other stuff 78 collectors want to know, so ask me if you have specific questions.

Perfect 11583/11583B - Red label and disk. Star Series.
All Alone/It's All the Same to Me
Perfect 12169/12169B - Red label and disk.
(I'm Cryin' Cause I Know I'm) Losing You/After My Laughter Came Tears
Columbia 1254-D (145457/145458) - Black label.
Singin' in the Rain/Orange Blossom Time

If I Had You/The Night is Young And You're So Beautiful
Decca 1106 A/B (DLA 670/DLA 671) - Decca "Perspective" label. Much as I love hearing Cliff wail away on his axe, I also love to hear him in from of a crack group. On this disk he's accompanied by Andy Iona and His Islanders, one of my favorite "hollywaiian" groups.
